Born and raised in Mahalapye, Botswana, Ednah grow up surrounded by food that told stories. Her grandmother, a formidable matriarch and a master of traditional cooking, would gather the family around a fire every evening to share meals that were simple but deeply nourishing. “You must always respect the ingredients,” her grandmother had said while grinding millet for bogobe jwa lerotse, a food-melon-infused porridge. “The land gives us everything we need.”
